Frequently asked questions

How quotes, bookings, containers, customs and tracking work at Kestrel — in plain language.

Send your route, container type and dates through our contact form and we reply with a fixed all-in price — usually within one business day.
Standard cut-off is five working days before departure for FCL and seven for LCL. Your booking confirmation always states the exact cut-off for your sailing.
20ft and 40ft standards cover most cargo, with 40ft high-cubes for lighter goods and reefers for temperature-controlled freight. Not sure what fits? Tell us your pallet count and we will size it.
A commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading cover most shipments; some goods need certificates of origin or licences. Our brokerage team checks everything before your cargo reaches the quay.
Every booking includes live tracking — vessel position and milestones from gate-in to final delivery, in one dashboard you can share with your team.
You hear from us first, with a recovery plan attached — rebooked sailings, alternative routings and a documented claim process for any damage.
Yes. We arrange cover for the full voyage value on request and include the certificate with your booking documents.
Spot bookings are invoiced on confirmation with payment due before departure; contract customers agree monthly terms in advance. All charges are itemised — no hidden extras.
